When you proceed to “For internet distribution”, the options are Music “low quality” and Music “high quality”. This gives 128 kbps and 256 kbps MP3 VBR files.
Why the change? According to the folks at Rogue Amoeba: “A major reason for the initial creation of Piezo was our desire to allow recording from other applications on the Mac within the limits of what Apple’s Mac App Store rules allowed. We were pleased to provide audio capture to customers of the Mac App Store, and for a time, things worked just fine. However, Apple eventually changed the rules, requiring that all applications distributed through the Mac App Store be sandboxed. This was a problem. Piezo’s need to capture audio from other applications precludes the possibility of it being sandboxed. This new requirement effectively stopped our ability to upgrade Piezo in any meaningful way.

Paul Kafasis wrote a nice piece on Rogue Amoeba’s weblog about Piezo’s being pulled from the Mac App Store and the resulting sells after one year. They did not launche any major versions or did any marketing push so they got clear 2 years of data, one of which is in the MAS the other on their own store.
Although Rogue Amoeba had to cut down on features to make it through app review, they were able to successfully create a product that can record any app. Paul Kafasis of Rogue Amoeba said, "We really weren't sure this would be approved, so we submitted a barebones tech demo. When it was accepted, we commenced work on really polishing things and getting to our true 1.0."

Vodburner for Mac users is used to record both Skype video and audio calls. With this, you actually do not need to have Skype installed. Once you have downloaded vodburner on your Mac, you will only need to sign in through Skype account. If you are a first timer to use both Skype and this application, you will notice that it will take longer to load. That isn’t a problem to get you worried. Vodburner will instead be initializing your settings. After the login and initializing you will notice all the Skype contacts being aligned. If you wish to make a call, all you have to do is move to the contact list so that the green button appears to enable you to make the call. Once the call has started, you will now be able to see a video window showing the other person or party. Once on the video window move over to see the recording controls. There is a record button that will appear on the screen of the window. If you wish to record, all you have to do is to click on it. This application is good because it enables you to record exactly what you see. The best thing also is that you can be able to control what appears on your video and whom or what doesn’t appear. Originally filed for on May 22, Apple’s patent application for a “multi-element piezo sensor for in-bed physiological measurements” outlines a hardware solution that would use a bunch of dedicated sensors for physiological measurements. Laid on top of a bed, such a device would track a user’s movements reliably throughout their sleep cycle. I personally am looking forward to downloading Piezo and giving it a try. Even without Instant On, it looks like a well-priced offering into the app-recording arena.
